Big Brothers Big Sisters of Niagara is launching The BIG Start for the fourth year, helping local children and youth head back to school with confidence.

From August 1–20, the community is invited to support local youth by donating new, unopened school supplies at the donation bins located in Event Court or at Guest Services.

‍

The BIG Start also helps provide local children and youth with a memorable back-to-school shopping experience. This year, the program aims to support more than 60 youth during its annual Shop Day, where each child receives the essentials they need to start the school year feeling confident and prepared.

About The Campaign:

Last year, The BIG Start supported 62 local youth with a $200 back-to-school shopping experience and collected more than 215 backpacks.

‍

Beyond providing school essentials, Shop Day gives mentors and mentees the opportunity to spend meaningful time together, strengthen their relationship, and talk about the excitement and challenges of returning to school.
